Habits
A Habit is an unwanted behaviour
- We all have habits of one form or another.
- We always tie our shoelaces the same way, same foot first.
- We always brush our teeth the same way.
- When applying eye make up we will always do the same eye first!
These are habits developed over time, and are harmless. There are habits we would not want to change, in fact changing some good habits could be life threatening, for example having the habit of looking both ways before you cross the road!
It’s when you develop a habit that makes you uncomfortable or embarrassed then it’s time to change it. Habit is just a behaviour that you learned to provide comfort perhaps, as in thumb sucking, or a behaviour that got you the attention you needed at that time. It becomes a problem when that behaviour goes on and is never changed. You were smart enough to learn it in an instant, you are certainly smart enough to unlearn it just as quickly
Nail biting for example, lots of people do it. When you are about to get married, or you have a job where presentation matters, you may want to change that behaviour. Hypnotherapy is a great choice, It’s painless, easy and a healthy alternative.
